Birthdays can be fun, they are real good reminders that “time flies,” they can be spent with people praising you are born, or you can even tell no one and hope no one catches on. No matter how you spend your birthday, it should always be how YOU want to spend them, right? My “day” is Nov. 13th. Two years in a row, it landed on a Friday the 13th! Did I experience “bad luck?” No, actually all went juuuuust fine, though I was a little weary and did look over my shoulder a few times, but no, all went well.

This year has been absolutely insane, on my own accord, but insane none the less. I moved to Cashmere WA, my little girl started Kindergarten and well to be blunt, I became a single momma (not saying that to be like “oh whoa is me...” It’s all really ok, our little sees her daddio and I both happy) So, what should a gal do to celebrate her “day?” Honestly, I had no idea, like none. At first, I thought, well heck I want a big ole bash. Then I thought, no, maybe I’ll just hole up at home and binge Netflix (honestly does not sound bad at all) But then it hit me!

“Hi mom, what are you doing the weekend of my birthday?”

“Hi honey! I don’t know why?” Replied my momma.

“Well cause I wanna be with you, so I’m headed home for the weekend!”

What better way than to spend my day with my natural BFF? My mom, my rock, the one who even made it possible for me to have a birthday! So up the Methow Valley (WA) I go! My momma is my happy place, and I know people who aren’t as lucky as I, to still have their momma. I can’t let time escape me while I still have her in my life on this earth. Seems all sappy to say this and read. But it’s the truth! We only get blessed with one life and an unknown number of birthdays. I have chosen to hang out at home with momma and just take it in. The real cool thing, that’s already my happy place, and to be surrounded by people who have been in my life since I was a tot, ya, I think I made the right call! Cheers! Big 33 is a set into, well just another year around the sun, but also a great opportunity to get a few deep belly laughs with my momma.

Also, I have added just a touch of photos of my momma and I over the years celebrating, cause, well I want show her off! Love you mom!
