A lunch break is very important to me. Lately I’ve been grabbing something at the drive through and coming back to work, but I think it’s time to go out and sit down for lunch. I got curious like any red-blooded American of a certain age, I asked Google where to go. I found several lists to choose from including Yelp.com, Wonderlog, and restaurant guru but I decided to go with Tripavisor.com. I found the list had several suggestions that I haven't visited in a long time.

Lets look at the top 10.

Sweetwood BBQ,905 N Wenatchee Ave, Wenatchee, wenatcheebbq.com

I love this place but if you want lunch on a weekday forget about it, they don’t open till three, Tuesday through Friday, Saturday at 11.

Elaine J, said in her review, “We walked past this place, and we're captivated by the aroma. We're glad we stopped! The pulled pork sandwich was great, and they had some of the best BBQ beans that I have tasted.”

Rail Station & Ale House,29 N. Columbia St, Wenatchee, railstationwenatchee.com

This location over the years has gone through many incarnations, this being the most recent. I have been told the food is excellent, but I have not tried them yet because they don’t open untill 1pm Wednesday through Sunday.

Southwest_Gaucho says, “Stopped in for lunch while on business at the convention center. They don't open until 1 pm so we had a late lunch. Went on a Sunday so we could watch some football which was nice. Lunch and service were good.

Lemolo Cafe & Deli,114 N Wenatchee Ave, Wenatchee

Over the years Lemolo has been one of my favorite places for a sit-down lunch. Travelers, calzones, pizzas, and sandwiches, it’s all good. All made in house with no short cuts, the soups are delicious. Try the French onion soup.

Glaze Bakery and Deli, 595 Grant Rd, East Wenatchee,

Glaze has been on many lists and the sandwiches are huge. They are now under new management, but the quality is still the same. Open seven days a week until 3pm. I don’t think you can go wrong, lunch and a donut.

Inna's Cuisine,26 N Wenatchee Ave, Wenatchee, www.innascuisine.com

It has been ages since I have had lunch at Inna’s. When I have been there the food is always good. Inna’s web site says “Inna's incorporates signature European cuisine into dishes like Pirogy (Ukrainian handmade) with potato, pelmeni, cabbage roll with sour cream. A variety of Italian, Greek and Russian favorites including great desserts such as Tiramisu, Baklava or a outstanding White Chocolate Cheesecake.”

La Fuente,816 S Mission St, Wenatchee, http://www.lafuentefamilymexicanrestaurant.com/

Wenatchee is not lacking in Mexican restaurants, but this in my opinion is one of the best.
rmonchick in their review said “Knowing how Mexican restaurants in the U.S. can vary considerably, I was thrilled to discover La Fuente during our one-night stayover in Wenatchee. We thoroughly enjoyed our tamales, Rellenos, Enchiladas and tacos.”

El Porton,340 Valley Mall Pkwy, East Wenatchee, www.myelporton.com

This is another of the top Mexican restaurants in the Wenatchee valley. I have not had lunch there in several months, the food is always good, the service is always great and the plates are always hot.

Visconti's Italian Restaurant,1737 N Wenatchee Ave, Wenatchee,

Visconti’s is open for lunch but for some reason I never think of them as a lunch spot. I guess I need to change that.

McGlinn's Public House,111 Orondo Ave, Wenatchee, www.mcglinns.com

It has been too long since I have been to McGlinn’s for lunch. On the web site they say “We want to bring you the familiar atmosphere of sitting on the back porch with good friends, grilling burgers, and sipping on a cold beer, or the first bite of charred marshmallow s’mores made over the campfire on a cool summer night.”

Wild Huckleberry,302 S Mission St, Wenatchee,

Again, it has been a long time since I have been to Wild Huckelberry, the last time was for Sunday brunch.

WyattChris said in their review, “A fun little restaurant with good food and great service. We were in town visiting family and found this place. It was a Thursday morning, so we got sat quickly and enjoyed the huckleberry waffle, avocado toast and biscuits with gravy.”

There are all kinds of choices for a good sit-down lunch in the Wenatchee valley, this is just a short list. Find some time, call a friend and have some lunch.
