Do you personally know a high school senior? Go to our new Facebook page: NCW ADOPT A HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR and give them a chance to be adopted by someone who can gift the student and brighten their day.
To ease the pain of not getting the chance to participate in the festivities and normal activities associated with being a high school senior, Facebook groups have sprung up across the nation to celebrate our graduating seniors and to let them know that even though the world is crazy right now, they are not forgotten. Our group highlighting our local high school seniors is NCW ADOPT A HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR. Don’t have a senior in high school? It doesn’t matter, they are encouraging everyone in the community to participate!
HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
-If you have a Senior please create a post and post Pics, Senior’s Name, School they’re Graduating from, and their Accomplishments
Want to Adopt a Senior?
Once you find your Senior simply comment on their post “I want to adopt”
-What happens when the Senior is Adopted? The “adopter” or the Senior parent/whoever posted the Senior can now Private Message each other (please check your “other” folder in your messages if you aren’t currently FB friends) with things the Senior likes such as:
- FAVORITE CANDY
- FAVORITE DRINK
- FAVORITE STORE
- FAVORITE SPORT/ SPORTS TEAM
- FAVORITE RESTAURANT
-The “adopter” can use this information to “gift” the Senior just to brighten this otherwise uncertain time.
-After the Senior is Adopted the Senior parent/whoever posted the Senior will then edit their post and put ADOPTED at the top.
-We ask that any and all contact remain between the adopter and the Seniors ADULT representative. We will NOT condone private message conversations between an adult and a student for safety reasons.
