Dating apps live and die by the profile. It's the first impression, the only impression, and often the deciding factor in whether someone swipes left or keeps reading. The goal is to be compelling, relatable, and maybe a little charming. Sometimes, though, it goes sideways.

A viral thread asked men to share the cringiest things they've encountered in women's dating profiles, and the responses range from baffling to genuinely concerning. Here are some of the highlights — or lowlights, depending on how you look at it.

The Women Who Listed Their Income Requirements Right in the Bio

The financial requirements section had some unforgettable examples. One profile simply said, "No money, no honey." Another was more specific: the woman said she only dates single men, has three kids, wants a partner who makes at least $100,000, and is a stay-at-home mom. It seems she didn't see any issue with those combined expectations.

There was also a woman on Plenty of Fish who asked men to send their Social Security number before she would agree to chat, so she could run a background check. While you have to admire her caution, this probably isn't what most people expect when looking for a date.

The Profiles That Proudly Warned Men About What They Were Getting Into

Warning labels were a common theme. Several men pointed out profiles where women proudly called themselves "a handful" or "too much." One profile even started with, "Let me be your next big mistake. I'm definitely NOT the one, but I promise you'll still be thinking about me long after." That's one way to set the mood.

A Wedding Dress, a Grave, a Venmo Link, and a 90-Day Parole Timeline

The creative category had its own highlight. One woman included a photo of herself in a wedding dress, crying over a grave. She didn't explain the story behind it.

One profile was straightforward and to the point: "If you're feeling generous:" and then her Venmo username.

And maybe the most unforgettable entry was a woman who casually mentioned in her profile that she expected to be paroled within 90 days.

Dating is tough. It turns out, writing a good bio isn't any easier.
