The Eagles & Niners game. As a longtime 12, THAT was the game I was watching - with utmost interest.

KW3’s own Wild Joe made the trip back to Philly to watch his beloved (and …for this game…my beloved Eagles) beat the San Francisco 49ers.

Knowing Joe's love for his hometown team - I had a sneaky suspicion that he made the trip back East.

Days after the Seahawks beat the Niners in the NFC Championship game (you know, the one that featured the iconic “THE TIP” from Richard Sherman)

I made an on-air proclamation that:

The Niners haven’t won a Super Bowl in the lifetime of most of the mouthy, arrogant Niner fans - And WON’T WIN ANOTHER IN THEIR LIFETIME. The 49ers are the IBM Typewriter of the NFL -Connor

A couple years ago, the Kansas City Chiefs saved me from eating my words. This year, Philly squashed the “Quest for Six”.

How many Super Bowls have the Seahawks won? One.

That win was as sweet as seeing:

* The Supersonics win the NBA title in 1979.

* The Sounders Two MLS Cups and their recent CONCACAF Champions League win at home vs. Pumas was also a lifetime highlight.

So, who are the Seahawk fans, the 12s rooting for in this year's big game?

That’s a tough question to answer. Both the Chiefs and the Eagles recently took care of the Niners Super Bowl dreams.

This year, I'll be rooting for the Eagles. I owe them my loyalty after they disposed of the 12s most hated rival.

The Seattle Seahawks made the playoffs in an obvious rebuilding year. Experts didn't think we'd win 5 games.

I gotta admit that this year - The Niners swept us...but they'll have to repeat sweeping us for the next 5 years to even up the overall head to head record.

Seahawks are 30-20 versus the 49ers - lifetime.

I’m hoping the Hawks will not only make the playoffs next year - but they will again have a defense - that is physical and effective like the days of the LOB.

With our great NFL draft last year - and 5 picks in the first three rounds of this year’s draft - I have hope that we can see another Superbowl parade in downtown Seattle soon.

That next ring will even be sweeter than the first.
