Do you have a favorite place to see the colorful autumn colors, here in the Northwest?
The magazine Country Living selected the 55 best towns in America to view the fall colors. Not surprisingly, many towns from New England and the Eastern Seaboard are included on the list.

If you live near these three locations, find directions to see vibrant colors in mid-to-late October.
Vale, Oregon
The brave homesteaders journeying west along the Oregon Trail in the 1800s considered this spot as the first resting area in Oregon. The best time to visit is in mid-to-late October, when the surrounding mountains and hills are adorned with vibrant fall colors.
Vale, located near Boise, has been ranked as the 37th best place to observe the changing colors.
Naches, Washington
My family has made pit stops in this town while traveling to White Pass. It's a great place to grab a bite to eat before heading up to Chinook Pass, which is a scenic route to Mount Rainier National Park. This park is another fantastic spot for enjoying fall colors, especially when coming from the eastern and central parts of Washington.
Naches was listed as the 43rd best Fall location in America.
Sandpoint, Idaho
One of my wife’s and my favorite towns in the entire Pacific Northwest is Coeur d’Alene. This charming small town, situated along the shores of Lake Coeur d'Alene, lies at the foot of the Schweitzer Ski Resort. During the fall, the hillside comes alive with vibrant colors.
Sandpoint is ranked 47th in the nation for vibrant Autumn colors.
