Have you ever sat and looked around your home n thought “hmm how can I make this more me?” I have, not to say you should, but I can tell you one thing! Bringing “you” to your home could be as simple as a rearrange.

Being thrifty doesn’t always mean buying more.

I like to go to yard sales periodically, but I will be super real, all of my “things” I have had since I was about 19 give or take. (By the way, I’m 32 and I still feel 19, is that weird?) For about 6 years, I would set aside 20 bucks a paycheck to get my place something to then feel like a home. Over so many years I feel like I need to have a yard sale. But now that I’ve moved into Cashmere WA and have a new “canvas” to decorate, I’ve been able to utilize what I have had over the years to create something super cute, meaningful and a cozy home for my little one and I.

Utilize everything!

I LOVE baskets. I mean like love em love em! I love decorating with them, organizing, any shape, any size, I’m going to find the basket it’s home. As you can see below, I’ve been able to take artwork and turn it into looking like a little Pinterest addition. Repurposing something so simple and turning it into a piece of art is quite the accomplished feeling.

I really mean utilize everything!

I didn’t want to go by a soap holder or something to hold my sponges, so I figured out a way. Yes, that is a sponge, a smiley face sponge in a glass bowl on top of a candle holder.

Having new stuff is always nice, but so are awesome yard sale fines.

I’m not going to sit here and try and say, “Oh my gosh save money blah blah blah.” But what I will say is that finding something so cool at a yard sale is better than brand new. Not only did I score 12 baskets for free, but I also found a desk for $5 and an amazing clock for three bucks plus, plates that I can use as coasters in the shape of an apple that reminds me of back home (Brewster) growing up and seeing all the apple art.

Organize your style and make it work for your life.

You don’t have to buy anything, sometimes it’s just a matter of a new look by moving furniture here or there. The feeling of a freshly rearranged room and just the look alone, does make it feel like a sense of “you.”
